Some auctions may have more than one of the same item available (for example, a hotel may have 3 identical suites available during the travel window, so 3 packages at that hotel are available). If this is the case, once the auction has closed and there is a winner, other people who bid on the same auction may receive an email with a Second Chance Offer.
The details of the Second Chance Offer may vary from auction to auction, but usually it provides the bidders who didn’t win an opportunity to purchase the auction item at the winning bid price. For example:
If Bidder A had a maximum bid of $200 and Bidder B had a maximum bid of $300, at the end of the auction, Bidder B would win and pay $300. Bidder A would receive a Second Chance Offer to purchase the same item for $300.
If you bid on an auction but didn’t win, and you receive a Second Chance Offer and want to take advantage of it, act quickly because other bidders may have received the same offer. It is first come, first served and quantities are always limited.
